About Us

Hawkeye's Hobbies LLC was founded in July 2006 by Gerald Voigt. The company was formed as a result of its owner's love of plastic scale modeling, a corporate layoff, and the availability of the paint manufacturing company, SnJ Model Products.

Since then, the original four SnJ Spray Metal and Polishing Powder colors expanded to twelve and Talon natural metal finish acrylic paints were added to the line-up. More changes and growth are in store for the remainder of 2008.

As a member of the Hobby Manufacturer's Association, serving on both the General Division Council and the Marketing Committee, Gerald works to promote the hobby industry. He believes that plastic scale modeling is an enjoyable hands-on activity that can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Gerald is the new the Subscription, Distbribution and Advertising Manager for Aerospace Modeler Magazine. He also works with other manufacturers in the hobby industry to design new products, such as Xuron's new soon to be released 2175ET Professional Sprue Cutter.

Gerald is active in his local IPMS modeling chapter and enjoys participating in the plastic modeling forums. Here's where you can find him:
