About Us

Hawkeye's Hobbies LLC was founded in July 2006 by Gerald Voigt. The company was formed as a result of its owner's love of plastic scale modeling, a corporate layoff, and the availability of the paint manufacturing company, SnJ Model Products.

Since then, the original four SnJ Spray Metal and Polishing Powder colors has expanded and Talon natural metal finish acrylic paints were added to the line-up. More changes and growth are in store for the remainder of 2008.

Having served as a member of the Hobby Manufacturer's Association, (served on both the General Division Council and the Marketing Committee), Gerald works to promote the hobby industry. He believes that plastic scale modeling is an enjoyable hands-on activity that can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Gerald also works with other manufacturers in the hobby industry to design new products, such as Xuron's new 2175ET Professional Sprue Cutter which will be available soon here as well as at other hobby retailers.

Gerald's other interests include photography, flying (he's a Private Pilot), nature and the outdoors. He is involveed in local government as a Park & Recreation Commissioner for the Town of Menasha.

Gerald is active in his local IPMS modeling chapters and enjoys participating in the plastic modeling forums. Here's where you can find him:
